Sponsored Research Associate
Jennifer Carpenter is a Sponsored Research Associate in the Partnerships Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). She joined ORNL in 2006, coming from a program management position at Florida International University’s (FIU) Applied Research Center.
She has over 14 years experience in technical project and program management with the DOE Environmental Management and its subcontractors, research universities, and private industry in East Tennessee. While at FIU, she successfully managed and completed the Mixed Waste Focus Area’s largest Accelerated Site Technology Deployment (ASTD) project, which resulted in a new mixed waste treatment being approved both in Tennessee and Utah, and the largest volume of waste to be treated and disposed by a new technology deployment. Jennifer is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology, and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
At ORNL, she is responsible for User Facility Agreements and other sponsored research agreements within the Work for Others Programs, including universities, private companies, and state governments.
