LM establishes fund after Columbine High shootings Lockheed Martin had the sad distinction in April of being close to another high school shooting tragedy; this time at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., where 15 died. According to Lockheed Martin Astronautics, parents of several of the dead and wounded students are employees at the plant in Littleton.
In December 1997 gunfire shattered lives at Heath High School near the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky. One of the three dead was the child of a Lockheed Martin employee, as were several of the wounded.
A Lockheed Martin Columbine Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established in the wake of the Colorado tragedy.
