ORICL summer course sign-up deadline June 3 The summer catalog of courses and field trips for the Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning is available. ORICL, an educational program sponsored by Roane State Community College and affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute Network, was formed largely due to the activities of several ORNL retirees.
ORICL offerings for the summer term include daytime and evening courses taught by college professors, local scientists and computer experts. Courses on the U.S. presidents from Tennessee taught by the editors of their personal papers, genealogy and legends of the big bands are among the listed offerings.
Field trips include a trip to the Sequoyah Museum, the Cumberland County Playhouse and the craft center at Smithville.
The summer term runs from June 28 to August 13. Deadline for registration is June 3. Call the ORICL office, 481-8222, to request a copy of the summer catalog.
