Next blood drive October 15, 18, 19

ORNL’s blood donors gave enough blood in the July drive to provide blanket coverage for ORNL employees. All employees and IRS dependents now have a year’s exception from paying blood supplier processing fees at any U.S. hospital.

That’s one reason it’s important to donate if you can. Now it’s time to repeat the success. The next blood drive is scheduled for October 15, 18 and 19.

During the July 16–20 onsite donation and Bloodmobile stops at outlying facilities, Medic received a total of 332 donations, according to volunteer organizer Missy Pointer.

Lab gets 106 percent of United Way goal

Thanks to the generous support of ORNL employees and retirees, the Laboratory concluded a successful United Way campaign. With $568,962 in contributions pledged, ORNL achieved 106 percent of this year’s goal.

Members of the United Way campaign cabinet, chaired by Ted Fox, are grateful to all employees who participated in the drive and would like to express special appreciation to the solicitors and coordinators who helped make sure that thousands of East Tennesseans will receive the help they need during the coming year.
