AbstractThe Delta-I=1 parity violating coupling between nucleons & pions has recently be computed for the first time directly from the underlying QCD and Electroweak field theories using the computational technique of Lattice QCD. This calculation is directly relevant to the experimental program at SNS, and has computational aspects relevant to the HPC program at ORNL through the extensive use of GPU acceleration. In this talk I will briefly describe the underlying theoretical aspects of the calculation, the various computational approaches, and the result achieved. I will then discuss the extension of this technique to the extended family of parity-violating quantities which are the subject of our current research. Time permitting, I will also explain the relationship of this research to another hot topic of experimental effort: the N-Nbar oscillation.
