Robert W. Galvin to present ORNL Distinguished Lecture
OAK RIDGE, Tenn.,

Robert W. Galvin, chairman of the Executive Committee of Motorola, Inc., will present a distinguished lecture at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 18, in Wigner Auditorium of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Galvin's lecture will explore the potential beneficial impacts of science on the affairs of mankind in the next century.
Galvin began his career at Motorola in 1940 and was the senior officer in the company from 1959 to 1990. Under his leadership, Motorola was the first large company-wide winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1988.
Galvin was elected to the National Business Hall of Fame and was presented the National Medal of Technology in 1991.
