Oct 22nd National Bioenergy Day -
- In conjunction with the University of Tennessee, an “information fair” will be held in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s (ORNL’s) cafeteria during the lunch hour (10 am – 2 pm) to highlight ongoing collaboration with the USDA-funded Southeastern Partnership for Integrated Biomass Supply Systems (IBSS) (http://www.se-ibss.org/ ) and the University of Tennessee’s Center for Renewable Carbon. This event will include displays and a staffed table to hand out literature and answer questions.
- ORNL’s Center for BioEnergy Sustainability (CBES) will host a seminar in Building 1505 from 3:30-4:30 pm entitled “Assessing Bioenergy Sustainability: Application of a Suite of Environmental and Socioeconomic Indicators to a Cellulosic Biofuel Production System in East Tennessee.” The talk will be given by Esther Parish of the ORNL Environmental Sciences Division and will summarize recent research conducted to meet a September 2014 U.S. DOE BioEnergy Technologies Office (BETO) major milestone.
Aug 20, 2014 - Jonathan Male, Director of the Bioenergy Technologies Office (DOE) presented an "Overview of the Department of Energy's Bioenergy Technologies Office"
Aug 12, 2014– Laurence Eaton hosted a 1 day interactive workshop at ORNL to explore the POLYSYS modeling framework and its application to biomass and bioenergy analysis.
