CTA Transportation Networks - The CTA Transportation Networks are geographically based link-node networks of major roadways and all active railroads in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. While intended primarily for network analyses (such as routing, traffic assignment, investment, and reliability analyses), the geographic base also supports cartographic applications and the association of auxiliary data that also has a geographic base. Fuel Economy Website - This interactive website allows consumers to factor fuel efficiency into their car buying decisions by allowing side by side fuel economy comparisons of new model year vehicles. This site also contains information on advanced techonolgy vehicles, the environment, and a well organized links section, making it a gateway for those interested in researching vehicles on the web. Contact: David Greene

ITS Deployment Tracking Website - This website tracks the progress of ITS technology deployment by focusing on key infrastructure components, specifically those indicative of deployment levels and the extent of integration between agencies that operate the infrastructure. Periodic surveys are taken of metropolitan and rural areas, the most recent being for the year 2005. Contact: Steve Gordon

ITS Technology Overview - This website provides one-stop shopping access to data on 176 individual ITS application areas. Links are provided to USDOT knowledge resources covering benefits, costs, deployment, lessons learned, initiatives, documents, and additional DOT resources for each technology. Technologies are accessed according to an ITS Taxonomy consisting of 13 major application areas related to the intelligent infrastructure and 3 major application areas tied to intelligent vehicles. The National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) - Formerly known as the Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey (NPTS) and the American Travel Survey (ATS), the NHTS is a household-based travel survey conducted every five years by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Survey data are collected from a sample of U.S. households and expanded to provide national estimates of trips and miles by travel mode, purpose, and a host of other characteristics. The survey collects information on daily, local trips and on long-distance travel in the United States. Contact: Pat Hu

Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey (NPTS 1995) - The 1995 survey and the four earlier surveys in the NPTS series yield important data on the travel behavior of the American population. The NPTS series provides data to examine the relationship among social and demographic change, land development patterns, and transportation. This internet-based analysis tool allows on-the-fly analysis by simple "points and clicks." Contact: Pat Hu

Projecting Fatalities in Crashes Involving Older Drivers, 2000 - 2025 - This site reports CTA projections from 2000 through 2025 of highway traffic fatalities that involve older drivers. Also included in the report are projections (for the same time period) of the population over 65, the percentage of that population that drives, and the average numbers of annual miles driven per driver. This site also contains an Excel-based spreadsheet tool available for download that will let a user change certain variables used in constructing these projections.Contact: Pat Hu

Realtime Traffic Data: Measuring the performance of the nation's highway system - This site displays measures of vehicle travel and traffic congestion derived from automated traffic sensor data for four U.S. cities with approximately a half-hour delay. It is intended as a proof-of-concept for a future national, web-based traffic data collection and performance monitoring system. This site is currently off-line however, if you would like to inquire about this site please contact: Shih-Miao Chin.

Biomass Energy Data Book: Edition 2 - This data book draws together, under one cover, biomass data from diverse sources to produce a comprehensive document that supports anyone with an interest or a stake in the biomass industry. Contained in this book are statistics and information that characterize the biomass industry, from the production of biomass feedstocks to their end use. This first edition of the Biomass Energy Data Book is currently only available online in electronic format. Contact: Stacy Davis.

Transportation Energy Data Book: Edition 29 - Designed as a desk-top reference, the data book includes statistics and other information that characterize transportation activity and/or influence transportation energy use. The Transportation Energy Data Book: Edition 29 is available in pdf format by clicking on the above link and is also available in hard copy. To obtain a free hard copy, contact Stacy Davis.
