Research Interests

Evan Ohriner is Distinguished R&D staff member with the Materials Behavior and Processing Section in the Materials Science & Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Evan received a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. degree from MIT. Before coming to ORNL, Evan performed research at Climax Molybdenum Company Research Center and Pfizer Specialty Metals. Evan has led the iridium alloy task at ORNL for 26 years and has expertise in processing a variety of refractory metals and alloys.  He is past chairman of the Refractory Metals and Materials Committee of TMS and a fellow of ASM International. He has 60 publications, 9 US patents, and 3 R&D 100 awards.
