This competition category recognizes the IdeaScale community that detailed the most creative and impressive workflow for progressing ideas from the point of inspiration to execution. In this case, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s JUMP program demonstrated its success in not only in identifying ten new technologies, but in developing a five-step, repeatable process used in thirteen calls for innovation.
The process instituted by Oak Ridge National Labs includes typical vetting, voting, and review, but also includes mentoring to idea authors and pairing with industry partners who are interested in taking the technology to market. Cumulatively, these ideas represent a great deal of progress in the quest for energy efficient buildings.
