The Department of Energy (DOE) is taking its successful innovation crowdsourcing program to the world’s largest gathering of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) professionals to kick-off the New Year.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is DOE’s largest science and energy laboratory and the host lab for JUMP, an online crowdsourcing community focused on energy efficiency in buildings. JUMP stands for Join the discussion, Unveil innovation, Motivate transformation, and Promote technology to market.
For 2017, JUMP has teamed up with ASHRAE to connect their respective members on energy efficiency challenges facing the buildings industry.
This strategic partnership all begins with a big presence at ASHRAE’s 2017 Winter Conference in Las Vegas to share the opportunity to join JUMP and brainstorm and discuss innovative ideas for the call for innovation at hand:
Here is what some of our past challenge winners have had to say about JUMP:
“We are honored to be part of DOE's JUMP Challenge and are grateful that DOE is providing this great platform to unconventional players like us who would otherwise have little visibility to the industry. The JUMP platform is a perfect incubator of ideas, especially for those who are thinking outside the box.” Charles Xie
“JUMP is a great bridge between inventors and enterprises. This platform provides opportunities to everyone, so dreams will not only be dreams, but reality. JUMP is the door to opportunities and success.” Gene Yang
“The problem is that very few inventors are successful and it is difficult to know where to begin. As an individual, JUMP is the platform I was looking for to express my creativity and innovate with collaborators.” Benjamin Knopp
