WHAT IT DOES

RESolution’s Publications module will replace ORNL’s Publications Tracking System (PTS) on July 10. The new system was designed around researcher feedback to make the publications review and release process simple and efficient and includes features not available in the old system, including:

  • A clean, modern interface.
  • The ability to upload OUO documents into the system securely.
  • Built-in help text and guidance.
  • Simplified workflows that let users quickly identify their publications in the pipeline.
  • Enhanced security, including encryption of documents, security scanning, and reminders for handling sensitive information.
  • Informative dashboards that offer meaningful publication metrics for individuals or groups.

Because basic workflows have been streamlined, Publications expedites the review and release process. Authors can correspond with reviewers inside the system, reducing the need for communications; view documents within the system, reducing download times; copy and paste acknowledgement text; and receive help within Publications itself.

Publications also greatly enhances security via:

  • Inclusion of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) with automatic encryption of uploaded files.
  • Regulation of foreign national status.
  • Scanning for keywords based on lists provided by Classification Officers and Export Control Analysts.
